At Own The Adventure, we believe swimwear can do more than simply cover your body. It can help you feel confident in it, celebrate what it can do — and occasionally remind you to look after it too.

When I was putting the company together a dear friend, under 40 years old, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s a totally numbing diagnosis and it seemed to be a crazy thought to carry on building a business when a friend was starting to understand what her life was going to look like.

Speaking to a UK charity about how I could help, it became obvious that it wasn’t just about a donation. A breast check, seemed a logical step forward. At first I was going to do it descreetly, but then, after speaking to numerous women, it became clear that wasn’t the solution.

Go bold and make it happen so that why we put a full scale reminder inside your swimsuit, in exactly the right place.

Checking your breasts isn’t about becoming an expert. It’s about becoming familiar with your own body - Getting to know what is normal for your own breasts is important.

There isn’t one particular way your breasts are supposed to look or feel. What matters is being familiar with your normal, so you’re more likely to notice if something changes.

We all have things we know we should do but don’t always remember to do regularly. So this is just a little nudge from us to you - While you’re here, take a moment to check. So our Swimwear became a little more purposeful.

So every now and then, when you pull on your OTA swimsuit:

Check yourself too.
